Vending telemetry uses email via GPRS modem
Vending telemetry enabling companies to understand the performance of new equipment prior to full release by email onboard intelligent modem

New machines are often trialed in the market before they are formally launched. This is important for high volume and complex products used by consumers such as domestic appliances, vending, gaming machines etc.
Problem - Inacurate data collection
Information is manually collected from new equipment by a clip board exercise, where 3rd parties are often used outside the control of the manufacturer. Slow and inaccurate information collection results in products not being fully optimised yielding poor reliability, increased maintenance costs and downtime.
Solution - Simple vending telemetry with an intelligent GPRS modem
Comtechs µWEB Lite GSM / GPRS modem family offers a simple vending telemetry solution, which supports on-board datalogging memory for storage of status information. The datalog on the GSM / GPRS modem can be sent by email over a wireless Internet connection directly to the manufacturer's server. A utility program can automatically import the datalog enabling reports to be generated e.g. using Excel. This enables the OEM manufacturer to optimise the design prior to launch.
Benefits
A vending telemetry using an intelligent GPRS modem creates access to information during usage, where previously this relied on manual data collection. It enables companies to optimise designs, understand usage and reduce down time.
- Design optimisation
- Increased reliability
- Reduced downtime
- Improved customer service
- Cost savings
- Reduced customer support
- Identification of usage
- Increase revenue
