GPRS modem with automated I/O mode
GPRS modem communicates I/O status automatically; a simple solution for alarm notification by remote machines
Automated I/O features are supported on the µWEB Lite GPRS modem family for wake-up and communication.
I/O Automated operation and wake-events
The intelligent GPRS modems can wake-up from a number of events, perform and action and then go back to sleep (if required). As an example, they can: -
- Automatically raise an SMS notification if an alarm condition occurs
- Reports I/O status at a regular schedule e.g. hourly, daily, weekly etc
- Prompt the GPRS modems to report I/O status by sending an SMS to the modem from your mobile.
Each I/O GPRS modem can therefore wake up upon: -
- Local I/O changes
- Real Time Clock (RTC)
- Network prompt
Automated Actions
In response to the I/O wake events, an automated operation is invoked e.g.
- Set timers for managing low power operation of the modem
- Send an SMS message with optional I/O and GPS status
- Autodialing over GSM/GPRS with optional TCP/IP protocols
- Stream I/O and GPS status
Pre-configure the GPRS modems
- A configuration utility is available to configure and program the Automated I/O modes of operation from a PC.
- Rapid time to market
